Based in Troon, Ayrshire, we are a local antiques shop providing antiques and the associated services to a local, national and international market.

Iain Sutherland has owned and operated the business since its conception in 1995. The business started, as many do, operating from a home-based office. After one year, the business outgrew the home environment and moved to store/workshop premises within the cenre of Troon. Tantalus operated from this workshop for two years before identifying retail premises in the heart of the town.

This building proved to be one of Tantalus Antiques largest restoration projects. The property started out in 1820 as a tailors shop, but with the passage of time had sadly fallen into a derelict state.

Iain Sutherland is a member of the 'British Watch and Clock Makers' Guild'. He is also a member of the 'Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce', and the 'Troon Business Association'.

Items can be shipped anywhere in the world and we have an excellent record of successful packing and delivery direct to your door. This is carried out using the most appropriate contractors in each given case to ensure an economic cost without compromising standards. Post and Packaging will be charged at base cost rates. It is in our interest to have your purchase delivered safely to your door without undue additional costs to your purchase.
