Up-dating membership records - Lost tickets
|
- In order
to keep your membership details correct, please let the staff know
when you have.......
- Changed
your address.
- Reached
sixty years of age. (There is a reduced book fine rate for Senior
Citizens).
- Lost
your lbrary ticket. You are responsible for all items issued on your
ticket. It is important you report a lost ticket as soon as possible
so that measures can be taken to prevent anyone else from using it.
There is a small charge for a replacement ticket.

- Books
- a wide variety of fiction and non-fiction.
- Talking
books - books on cassette tape.
- Large
print books - fiction and non-fiction.
- Video
- films and children's videos. Please see Library Charges leaflet for
audio/video hire charges.

- Borrowed
items can be re-issued for a further loan period if not in demand.
- Hire
caharges are due again on re-issued video items.
- If
renewing items by telephone please quote the computer
number for each item (you will find this above the date label). Items
not in demand can only be renewed three times by telephone.

- 8
Books (inc. talking books) for 4 weeks
- Adult
mmembers may also borrow.... 4 open
learning packs for 8 weeks.
- Fines
are levied on overdue items
|
- Any
stock item not immediately available can be reserved. Similarly, any
item not in South Ayrshire stock can be requested and we will do our
best to obtain a copy. There is an administrative charge for this
service, payable when the request / reservation is made.

British
Library Lending Service
|
- Specialised
or out of print non-fiction material can usually be obtained from
other Library Services through the British Library Lending Service.
A further application fee is available if you decide to use this service.

a book
|
- Our
computerised catalogue lists the stock of all South Ayrshire Libraries.
It tells you which branches hold copies of any item, shelf location
and whether the item is in the library or is out on loan.
- Please
ask the staff if you cannot find what you are looking for or if you
require assistance with the catalogue.

- Books
- The library stocks a selection of general reference material
; encyclopaedias, almanacs, atlases, directories, dictionaries
etc. Staff can contact the Carnegie Library for help with
any enquiry we are unable to answer from owr own stock.
- Local
Studies - Community oInformation
- Material and information of local interest is available for
reference. Local groups and individuals are encouraged to enter forthcoming
events in the Community Diary and to submit posters and leaflets
for display. Regrettably some posters, such as those for profitmaking
enterprises, cannot be displayed.
- Newspapers
- The
Library provides a small selection of national, local and weekly newspapers.
Newspapers are kept for one month. Please ask for our current list

sale in the Library shop you will find a selection of Scottish and
local history titles, photographs and maps.

A photocopier is available for public use . Payment should be made
at the library counter. Information on Copyright law is displayed
for your guidance.

messages can be sent or received on your behalf.
- Current
charges for our photocopying and fax service are on display.
- Housebound
service & Children's activities. oooo Please ask staff for details.
- Reading
/ Study Room - A
room is available for quiet reading/study. (Adults only)
- Toilets

- Car
Park - For
use ONLY when visiting the library. Two spaces are available
for disabled users.

is an automatic door at the front entrance to the library.

Marr
Educational Resources Centre
|

at the rear of the Library, the Centre offers free access to computers
for sel-instruction learning, plus access to the internet. Please
see separate leaflet.
